Best Chanel Couture 2008
Chanel
Chanel’s couture show was elegant, ladylike and still fun at the same time. I loved how most of the outfits were short and most of the models were wearing flats. The light, pastel colors would be perfect for spring, and how gorgeous do they look on the short dresses? The Chanel collection also incorporated silver grey and metallics, which are both going to continue as hot trends this season.

Warm, cheerful Freesia is an uplifting and inviting color to which people are instinctively drawn. It is also a color that allows for diverse accessorizing opportunities in jewelry and shoes.
Against neutrals, luscious Cantaloupe is warm and nurturing – a great addition to any wardrobe, especially when paired with chocolate browns.
Glitzy Silver Gray has a sheen reminiscent of the popular metallics that add a touch of excitement to any outfit.
Revitalizing Daiquiri Green, a brighter version of the popular earth-tone yellow-greens naturally associated with eco-awareness, is a refreshing complement to the coolness of Pink Mist (below).
Vibrant Snorkel Blue, a favorite this season among designers, is a dependable navy, but with more animation and sophistication.
Trans-seasonal Golden Olive is another distinctive staple of the season.
The deep pink undertones of flowery Spring Crocus make it among the prettiest, most-wearable purples.
Brighter reds are consistent favorites in spring, and provocative Rococo Red is an exciting, attention-getting classic.
Pink Mist - this delicate, subtle pink with blue undertones pairs perfectly with any color in the palette for a feminine look.
With its beautiful undertones, Croissant is a delicious base for spring’s more exciting accents.

Shoes for 2008
Big
- Chunky wedges, lucite heels and platforms have seen a strong revival and are set to be in vogue for several seasons to come. A perfect accessory to the maxi dress, chunky wedges complete that flowing, feminine look, giving height and density.
- One of the biggest fashion trends of the season is heel ornamental or what shoegoddess.net refers to as "modiffied heels". Wearable art, consisting of jewels, studs, bells and petals.
Peep-toed shoes used to be matronly and frumpy, but no longer. They come in all shapes and sizes from ballet flats and shoe-boots to chunky wedges and stacked heels.
The fashion faux pas of combining peep-toes with opaque tights is well and truly laid to rest in 2008. Far from wearing sheer stockings, pairing open-toed shoes with seriously textured tights is right on-trend.
Booties or the shoe-boot hybrid continues to break the rules by becoming even more popular in 2008. Part boot, part shoe, this strange looking fashion footwear has emerged as the surprise superstar from last season. However, the shoe-boot is not without its critics. In her article "Celebrity Fashion Victims", fashion guru Liz Jones of the Daily Mail refers to them as “the worst fashion trend of 2007”.

Most Expensive Dress
The dress Marilyn Monroe donned that birthday evening was a full length evening sheath dress of flesh colored gauze encrusted with rhinestones embroidered in a rosette motif. The dress that Monroe sang the sweet "Happy Birthday Mr. President" song which now lives in infamy, was sold at Christie’s that October evening for $1,150,000. The dress was originally made for Monroe for approximately $2,500.
On July 28 2004 Samantha Mumba attended the premiere of Spider-Man II in the world's most expensive dress.
Created by Scott Henshall the dress contains about 3,000 diamonds in the shape of a spider's web and would cost you, not only the clothes off your back, but an additional £5 million as well.
