Natalie surges ahead

Black Swan opened the Venice Film Festival yesterday and the reviews have been mostly overconfident. Even when they 're not overconfident, they 're not full sh-t either, and the critics who love it, really really do love it, some even going so far as to send for Cygnus atratus Darren Aronofsky's first masterpiece, with his leading lady, Natalie Portman, forking out what many jibe to be the finest, most nuanced, most impressive public presentation of her life history. Seriously, they 're all jizzing over her, even the ones who didn't like the plastic film.
You know what that means : she's now, too soon in the game -- very ahead of time -- in the race for Academy Award with momentum currently on her English. Then again again, no one wants to top out too betimes. And naturally with early hoopla comes early on backlash. It encountered with Up in the Air and even Precious last class. This honour job is such a f-cking bitch.

As for Natalie, many noticed that she was even more intense than she is usually for this premiere, that she seemed to want it gravely, that she knows this could be a watershed minute for her professionally and intrinsically seemed emphatically freed when the reception was in the end flattering -- Portman's ambitiousness may not be as obvious as others but it's there, and she will go for it when she has to... though I wonder if she's wondering about the sapience of starring in a amorous comedy formerly shouted out Friends with Benefits now called in No String section with Ashton Kutcher with the same assumption as another wild eyed comedy boasting Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis.

Ivan Reitman is sending Natalie's interlingual rendition and the two of them could certainly equilibrate out Ashton's sh-t. Hopefully. But No String section is due out Jan 21, 2011...

And at that season, in that rather bowelless Academy Award surroundings, no one wants a Norbit.

As for her attire last nighttime -- it was flushed, it was Rodarte (in keeping with the pattern musical theme from the flick), and I liked it OK though it's certainly not as jittery or as interesting as some of the costuming in Cygnus atratus. Some of you have adverted that her shoes are ass. And they are. But I instructed a while back that the reason her horseshoes are ALWAYS shtup is because she won't wear out non-vegan ones, so she's circumscribed, you see, and therefore it's hard to flop her expressive style when she's only doing work with a quarter of a deck.

“The Kids Are All Right” New York Premiere – Mia Wasikowska In Rodarte

Mia Wasikowska wore yet another sheer look this week when she walked the red carpet for “The Kids Are All Right” New York Premiere last night.
The Australian actress wore a dress from the Rodarte Spring 2008 collection  – which I like to call the Keira Knightley collection.
I hate to say “I told you so”, but I did say yesterday that Mia could pull off a bra-less look.
This was proved when she wore her black lace and blue ribbon dress sans bra and it didn’t look tacky nor cheap.
The dress is pretty expressive so she didn’t need any accessories.
Her look was completed with simple black peep-toes.
I personally would’ve worn the runway spikey Louboutin’s, but Mia’s look works perfectly for her.

Red Carpet Buzz: Zoe Kravitz

Bryan Goluboff’s Beware the Gonzo, which stars Ezra Miller, Jesse McCartney, and Zoe Kravitz, follows a teen journalist’s efforts to give a voice to his school’s outcasts through an underground student newspaper. At the film’s world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival last night, the always-lovely Kravitz looked anything but a high school misfit, in an elegant copper cocktail dress from Zac Posen’s fall 2010 collection, which she accessorized with Lucifer Vir Honestus rose-gold and diamond bangles and a rose-gold frog statement ring.

I found this fascinating quote today:

Evan Rachel Wood and Marilyn Manson have been laying low for some time, so that you can imagine our surprise when they were snapped by shutterbugs leaving a Hollywood eaterie together yesterday evening. We completely spaced this odd pair is getting ready to be man and wife! And while the approaching wedding of these unusual lovebirds has left us a little confused, one thing is for sure - Wood's engagement band is a stunner. The star of the flick 13 - who's now only twenty-two years old - was spotted with a square-cut diamond on her ring finger. The beautiful gargantuan rock was placed in an antique setting. While many of us could find Manson a touch weird and weird, we don't like to judge their upcoming marriage promises. Actually Wood dished to Elle Mag back in 2007 about how head-over-heels she's for the surprising rocker. She described him as "beautiful, actually human and just fantastic. It may amaze you simply how healthy and loving our relationship is. ". Session dataAnne_022196, All About Diamonds, Mar 2010

I found this fascinating quote today:

HOLLYWOOD Extraordinary robes and a huge number of greenbacks worth of jewelry lit up the Academy Awards red carpet here Sun. as superstars decided on outdated Hollywood glamor on Tinseltown's glitziest night of the year. A-listers sparkled and sparkled down the most famed runway in the world being inspired by the film screen itself as many of the chosen actresses chosen gowns in shades of platinum and silver.Best Actress winner Sandra Bullock set the tone with an amazing silver beaded robe with classy train, 40's style make-up and smooth hair. Lady Helen Mirren also chose a dress of silvery tones by Badgley Mischka, this time in sequined tulle with diamond jewellery by Hollywood favourite, the French house of Chopard.Kate Winslet, presenting this year, selected a structured strapless column dress in silvery tones by Yves St Laurent and the most stunning jewellery of the night : a pendant style necklace of emerald cut white and yellow diamonds by Tiffany with matching earrings and cuff said to be worth more than 2.5 million bucks. Kathryn Bigelow, the 1st girl in Oscars history to win the best director prize, wore an easy form fitting platinum column dress with bodice detailing.  Sarah Jessica Parker wore a vanilla coloured silk duchess satin dress by Chanel Couture with weird silver elaborations at the neck and draped back selected, she revealed, as it was "just perfect". Diane Kruger also selected Channel Couture in a sensational white chiffon halter neck dress with black details ; as gorgeous from the back as the front, kind of a relief for the militaries of photographers and fans catching merely a glance as the stars spin by. In a fifties-style gold beaded strapless robe, Cameron Diaz looked the pinnacle of glamour as did Amanda Seyfried in Armani Prive. Also in Armani Prive was Jennifer Lopez in a less than flattering structured strapless robe.Other debatable decisions came from Mariah Carey who was virtually bursting out of her petrol blue Valentino semi-strapless robe threatening a wardrobe malfunction at any moment. Tom Ford, not surprisingly in his very own label tux, was sporting nearly as many diamonds as the actresses he followed. His shirt studs were each one or two carats worth of great princess cut diamonds and he wore an ideal gardenia in his lapel. Colin Firth was also in a Tom Ford tux with stunning art deco studs in what seemed to be like platinum and onyx and George Clooney, ever classy in his trusted Armani suit, also wore interesting studs ; these, he revealed, were "from my uncle". As usual, Penelope Cruz, looked amazing in deep red strapless pleated robe by Donna Karan with Chopard jewellery and feathered clutch. Sigourney Weaver also selected red in the shape of an one-shouldered chiffon robe with black belt.Vera Farmiga, designated for her role in "Up In The Air," in a red dress by Marchesa that all but overwhelmed her miniscule frame with its rippling spirals of pleated silk. The more peculiar selections came from Carey Mulligan, nominated in the best supporting actress class, selected a black strapless dress by Prada covered with many small silver forks spoons and scissors and some blinding candelabrum earrings by Fred Leighton.Asked what she's going to be doing when the award season is all over, she revealed "I'll be wearing pajamas each day and won't stop eating for a week!" Maggie Gyllenhaal selected an electrical blue strapless dress by Dried Wagon Noten, which about worked but for the bizarre make-up and fuchsia lip color. Maybe the sole surprise at this season's's Awards was something notable by its absence : Alexander McQueen, having been favored during the past by both Sandra Bullock and Sarah Jessica Parker among others, was missing from the red carpet. I found this fascinating quote today:

The long awaited Oscar Awards are over. The meriting winners have been chosen and returned home cuddling their awards. But naturally the Academy Awards will not be completed without the red carpet showcase. Were you in a position to watch the telecast? Have you selected your best dressed celebs in the event? Well, we may bring you some of our best-dressed decisionsWho knows, we might have same choices!  Sandra Bullock wearing her metallic Marchesa gown with an intricate lace bodice. Tina Fey is so stunning in her one-shoulder sequined gown from Micheal Kors. Carey Mulligan didn’t disappoint me for her first Academy Awards in this Prada gown. It has all the elements of a total classic—black, strapless, a little of bedazzle but with an unexpected twist. According to a Prada press release, the embroidery features "playful metallic things such as tiny forks, knifes, bolts, watch gears and scissors." Elizabeth Banks in her stunning Versace gown as she floated on the red carpet. The choice to pull her hair back and let the dress run the show was a great decision and she just looks gorgeous.e-clothingonline.com, e-Clothing Online, Mar 2010
